How to cook Goan Style Chicken Ambotik Curry
Made first time, Spicy Chicken Ambotik Curry using Ambot Tik Masala & 1 cup thin Coconut Milk and used Lime juice instead of Vinegar. You can use Beef / Mutton / Prawns
Marination of Chicken
1/2 kg Chicken
1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 tbsp Lime juice
Salt to taste
1) Clean Chicken well
2) Apply Chicken with Ginger Garlic Paste, Lime Juice & Salt and keep it marinated for 15-30 minutes

Extract Coconut Milk
1/2 cup fresh grated Coconut
1 cup Warm Water
1) Grind Freshly scraped Coconut with 1/2 cup warm water and extract Coconut Milk
2) Again grind the same Coconut with 1/4 cup warm water and extract Coconut Milk. Combine and keep it aside in a bowl
3) Again grind Coconut with 1/4 cup water and extract Very thin Coconut Milk for grinding masala
You can also use ready-made store bought 1/2 cup Coconut Milk
Masala for grinding
8 Kashmiri Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
3 Nos. Cloves
10 Nos. Peppercorns
1 tsp Poppy Seeds

1" Cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
1/2 cup very thin coconut juice for grinding
Grind masala along with very thin Coconut Milk to smooth paste.
Deep Fried Potato Wedges (optional)
2 Potatoes cut into wedges
Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
Wash Potatoes and drain water completely. Apply Salt & Turmeric Powder. Then deep fry on medium flame till it is fully cooked. Keep it aside on a plate
Cooking Preparation :
3 tbsp Oil
1 large Onion finely chopped
1 large Tomato finely chopped
1 spring Curry Leaves
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Coriander chopped fine
1) Heat oil in a cooking pan add Onion & Curry Leaves cook till translucent
2) Add tomato and fry till soft
3) Add Marinated Chicken and cook for 2 minutes then add ground masala and fry it for 2 minutes
4) Add Coconut Milk and cook for 15 minutes till Chicken is cooked
5) Check salt and add accordingly. Add deep fried Potatoes to the cooked Chicken curry. Garnish with chopped coriander
6) Serve this Chicken Ambottik Curry hot with Kadak Pav / Soft bread / Pulao
